Abstract

We proposed a novel ultra-compact Mach-Zehnder modulator using semiconductor quantum dot waveguides. The phase shift is induced by electromagnetically-induced transparency. Vπ < 0.4 is obtained at room temperature with a total absorption loss of 0.5dB.
