Abstract

We investigated random scattering of light in a disorder gain medium of ZnO nano-particles using the pump-probe and time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) techniques. The coherent backscattering peak from the ZnO powder as the result of multiple scattering from the λ=390nm probe is measured as shown in Fig. 1a. The angular dependence of backscattering cone is fitted to the 3-dimensional coherent backscattering model [1] yielding a coherent scattering length l of approximately equal to 0.8λ which is close to the strong scattering regime.
