Abstract

Fiber delivery of shaped ultrafast laser pulses at pulse energies around 1-pJ to obtain optimal excitation of fluorophores is experimentally demonstrated. Pulse widths with 96-fs and 450-fs were delivered through a 1-m fiber for launched energy of 0.5-nJ and 2-nJ, respectively, by compensating the dispersion prior to the fiber propagation.
