Experiments with substrate-mode cascaded resonant-grating optical filters

Abstract

A resonant waveguide grating filter is fabricated to function as a substrate-mode element. As the input light repeatedly interacts with the resonant element, effective cascading is achieved with attendant linewidth narrowing and sideband suppression.
