Abstract

Surface plasmon polariton (SPP) scattering by random surface nanostructures and associated localization effects are considered. SPP localization inside the random structures and waveguiding along channels free from scatterers are demonstrated with experimentally obtained (in the wavelength range 713–815 nm) near-field optical images representing SPP intensity distributions along the surface plane.
