This tutorial lecture covers the followings: 1) Unique optical and non-linear optical properties as well as enhancement of some photonic function in photonic crystals. 2) Different methods to fabricate photonic crystals of different dimensions 3) A wide rang of applications including frequency conversion, optical communications and biomedical technology.
