Abstract

Several preliminary clinical studies have been carried out over the past several years to test proof-of-concept of fiber-mediated elastic-scattering spectroscopy for real-time, minimally- invasive diagnosis of cancer. This promising technique is now entering the translational research stage, with statistically larger clinical studies, to determine the efficacy of prospective diagnosis.
