Photonic Nanojets at the Cusp Caustic of a Cylinder

Abstract

The sub-wavelength confinement of the caustic fields over a few wavelengths is analyzed using the Debye expansion of the Mie solution. The nanojet effect is interpreted in terms of characteristic amplitude and phase of the angular spectrum.
