Strain measurements using fiber Bragg grating array

Abstract

A 3 element, 15 cm Fiber Bragg Grating Array, utilizing Coherent Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry interrogation, was attached to a 75 cm aluminum cantilever beam. FBGA axial strain results showed agreement with electric strain gages.
