High-Power Short-Length Microstructured Phosphate Fiber Lasers With Large Mode Areas

Abstract

We report short-length high-power microstructured phosphate fiber lasers. The heavily Er-Yb-codoped core area is ~500 µm2 and ~8 W CW output at 1.5 µm is demonstrated from a 10-cm cladding-pumped fiber laser.
