CHARACTERIZATION NEW CO2 LASER UNIVERSIDAD DEL VALLE CALI COLOMBIA

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The new CO2 laser constructed in Universidad Del Valle in Cali Colombia was characterized. The characterization include power vs. pressure, for a constant voltage, power vs. voltage for a constant pressure, spectrum visible for mixture with types of electric discharge, stability of the power laser at ten, twenty and thirty minutes, Wavelength measurement, polarization, and mixture optimization. The new laser is being used in the final process for doctoral project “Treatment and characterization of ceramics films for nanocrystals obtaining using thermal treatments with CO2 laser”The films have been thermally processed. Atomic Force Microscopy and visible reflectance have been used to study the effects of the treatment and some examples of the thermal treatment effects are presented.
