Electromagnetic Young’s Interference Experiment: Stokes Parameters, Polarization Contrasts, and Degree of Coherence

Abstract

An interference law for the Stokes parameters in electromagnetic Young’s two-pinhole experiment is derived. The modulation contrasts of the Stokes parameters, their measurement, and relation to the field’s degree of coherence are also discussed.
