Optical Magnetic Dipole Interactions for Dielectric Metamaterials

Abstract

An intense magneto-optic effect, magnetic dipole radiation, is predicted and observed in a dielectric liquid. The results suggest magnetic resonant response at optical frequencies can be obtained leading to the development of unstructured metamaterials.
