Conical Diffraction and Gap Solitons in Honeycomb Photonic Lattices

Abstract

We present the first experimental study of nonlinear wave dynamics in honeycomb photonic lattices, and demonstrate unique phenomena such as “honeycomb gap solitons” and "zero mass" conical diffraction arising from the special honeycomb symmetry.
