Management of Nonlinearity, Gain and Third Order Dispersion in High Energy Yb-doped Fiber Amplifiers

Abstract

Amplification in the presence of strong self-phase-modulation (ΦNL~12π), finite gain bandwidth (δλfwhm~15 nm) and third-order dispersion is studied numerically and experimentally. Pulses amplified to 30 μJ energy in Yb-doped fiber are dechirped to 240 fs duration.
