Laser Writable Azobenzene Functionalized Polymer for Waveguide Fabrication

Abstract

We report on laser-writing waveguides fabrication on an azobenzene polymer film. Intensity dependent material response and waveguide formation mechanism are discussed. Visible laser writing resulted in low-loss polarization independent optical waveguides at 1550 nm wavelength.
