Effects of Local Plasmon Resonance Inhomogeneity on Surface Enhanced Molecular Fluorescence

Abstract

Surface plasmons in silver nanostructured surfaces dramatically enhance the photoluminescence of adsorbed terbium-containing organic complexes. Wide variations in emission spectra show that the surface plasmons have a wide spectral distribution varying significantly with location.
