Spectroscopic Interferometry Using Slow-Light Media

Abstract

We consider a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a slow-light medium in one of its arms. We show that the frequency/wavelength sensitivity is enhanced enormously because of the large difference in group indices between the two arms.
