High Power Subpicosecond Pulse Generation From a Yb3+-Doped Fiber Laser Using Only Frequency Shifted Feedback

Abstract

A frequency-shifted feedback fiber modelocked laser with 120 nJ pulse energy, increasing to 1μJ with simultaneous Q-switching, is demonstrated. The pulses were compressed to < 1 ps duration.
