Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate enhanced Kerr non-linear effects in tapered highly nonlinear As2Se3 chalcogenide fibre with sub-wavelength waist diameter. We observe enhanced nonlinearity of 68.4 W-1m-1, which is 45,000 times larger than standard silica single-mode fibre.
