Nanoparticles in microcavities as all-optical tunable systems

Abstract

An all-optical tunable system is proposed consisting of metallic nanoparticles within open metallic cavities. Resonant nanoparticle-cavity interaction is observed through both electromagnetic forces, intended to move the nanoparticle, and light absorption of the combined system.
