Propagating Modes with Large Bandwidth in Nanoscale Cylindrical Holes

Abstract

Subwavelength cylindrical holes in optically thick metallic films always support propagating modes near the surface plasmon frequency, regardless of how small the holes are. Here, we design nanoscale holes supporting modes with very large bandwidth.
