Understanding Light Propagation in Bone for Photodynamic Therapy of Osteosarcoma

Abstract

Reflectance spectroscopy is used to characterize light propagation in bone. Results are applied to a cylindrically symmetric Monte Carlo model, guiding light delivery within bone to treat osteosarcoma with photodynamic therapy in small animal clinics.
