Sensitivity Enhancement of a SPR Based Fiber Optic Sensor by using a Tapered Probe

Abstract

Fiber optic SPR sensor with uniform sensing region sandwiched between two identical tapered regions has been proposed. Theoretical studies show that the sensitivity of the present probe increases with the increase in taper ratio.
