Band-gap engineering and light manipulation with reconfigurable ionic-type photonic lattices

Abstract

We report on the first demonstration of ionic-type photonic lattices, with lattice potentials resembling that of ionic crystals in solids. Such optically induced reconfigurable non-Bravais lattices enable the observations of Band-gap engineering and light manipulation.
