Photoaligned liquid crystal polymers for space variant polarization control

Abstract

We present developments using photo-aligned liquid crystal polymers for creating space variant polarization control. We demonstrate novel components which create both systematic and random polarization orientation profiles. Theoretical and experimental properties of vortex retarders and speckle control components are presented.
