Improved Linear Optic Bell-State Measurement Using Ancillary Photons

Abstract

It is not possible to construct a linear optic device that unambiguously discriminates all four Bell states. However, the Bell-state measurement efficiency can be made arbitrarily close to unity by introducing additional entangled photons.
