Developing Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators for Quantum Optics Applications

Abstract

We have achieved non-critically phase-matched frequency conversion at 1064 nm in a polished LiNbO3 whispering gallery mode resonator disk. This is the first step towards a low-threshold, narrow-band non-classical light source.
