Abstract

This paper focuses on the design and fabrication of the free-form shaped lens for green laser leveler instrument. We design a novel free-form shaped lens with two aspheric-cylindrical surfaces to solve the energy concentrate problem due to the Gaussian distribution of the green laser source. The fabricated surface form errors are less 0.5μm inside the clear aperture. Finally, the laser leveler instrument with free-form shaped lens is tested and the result shows it has good performance.
