Generation and Characterization of Broadband Similariton

Abstract

We generate a 100 nm-bandwidth nonlinear-dispersive similariton in a passive fiber, and characterize it by means of its chirp measurement through the technique of frequency tuning and spectral compression in the sum-frequency generation process.
