Microstructuring of chalcogenide glass fiber and spinel ceramic surfaces to reduce reflection losses

Abstract

We demonstrate enhanced transmission of spinel ceramics and chalcogenide glasses and fibers due to the antireflective properties of microstructured surfaces. In the case of multimode As2S3 fibers, transmission as high as 97% was demonstrated.
