Effect of Spherical Aberration on the Color Appearance of a Small Red Dot

Abstract

We used adaptive optics (AO) visual simulator system to produce 4th order wavefront spherical aberration in the eye with a 4-mm pupil. A small red dot surrounded by a concentric black ring and white background appeared to be whitish through the system.
