Nonreciprocal Light Propagation in Silicon Photonics

Abstract

We have designed, fabricated and tested a metallic-silicon waveguide system to mimic microscopic non-Hermitian optical potentials for guided light, introducing on-chip nonreciprocal light propagation associated with spontaneously broken PT symmetry.
