Ion-Photon Networks for Scalable Quantum Computing

Abstract

Trapped ions entangled via photonic interactions are promising avenues for quantum information processing. Here, we report advances towards combining photonic gates between distant ions with Coulombic gates between nearby ions to demonstrate scalable quantum networks.
