Abstract
We investigate the modality of an optimal optical phase correction with a bi-focal diffractive intraocular lens, an adaptive optical system equipped with a deformable mirror is used to mimic the corneal aberration of simulated pseudophakic eyes. A diffractive intraocular lens is mounted in a physical model eye and the point spread functions are recorded and analyzed at various levels of spherical aberration introduced by the deformable mirror. We found that the depth of focus of the DIOL in the model eye show some improvement thanks to spherical aberration of the cornea.
