Abstract

The developed microfabricated fluorescence-activated cell sorters (µFACS) employs optical illumination using liquid-core waveguides, fluorescent detection using space-time coding architecture, and cell manipulation using piezoelectric (PZT) actuator. We demonstrate sorting of beads, mammalian cells, and bacteria.
