Demonstration of 2-Tbit/s Data Link using Orthogonal Orbital-Angular-Momentum Modes and WDM

Abstract

We present a 2-Tbit/s data link using two orthogonal orbital angular momentum (OAM) spatial modes with 25 wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) channels on each mode. We demonstrate the functionality and quantify performance for directly detected 40-Gbit/s NRZ-DPSK, 40-Gbit/s NRZ-OOK and coherently-detected 10-Gbaud/s QPSK modulation formats.
