Abstract
Some ultraviolet transition frequencies in antiprotonic helium atoms were measured by sub-Doppler two-photon laser spectroscopy to a precision of 2.3-5 parts in 109. By comparing the results with three-body QED calculations, the antiproton mass in units of the electron mass was determined as 1836.1526736(23). This agrees with the proton-to-electron mass ratio. This constitutes a consistency test of the CPT symmetry of particle physics.
