Long Wavelength Absorption Enhancement in Thin Film Solar Cells by Asymmetric Nano-wedges

Abstract

Amorphous silicon thin film solar cells with back asymmetric nano-wedges are studied numerically. While maintaining the beneficial cavity resonance modes in symmetric structures, the symmetry-broken ones allow for an additional absorption enhancement at long wavelength.
