Polarization Controlled Surface Plasmon Polariton Propagation: Physics and Applications

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Structuring metallic surfaces with suitable couplers allows one to control the surface plasmon propagation direction with changing polarization. We present experiments including the demonstration of unidirectional coupling in long range surface plasmon waveguides.
