Great light absorption enhancement in a Graphene metamaterial photodetector

Abstract

A photodetector with graphene embedded in a metamaterial perfect absorber (MPA) is proposed. 17 times light absorption enhancement is obtained compared to a graphene monolayer. Cascaded MPAs integrated with graphene are investigated as multiband photodetectors.
