Probing Atomic Structure with Carrier-Envelope Phase-Stable Few-Cycle Pulses in the Infrared

Abstract

We constructed a light source for infrared carrier-envelope phase-stabilized few-cycle pulses. The application to strong-field ionization facilitates diffraction spectroscopy in broad energy ranges, which is demonstrated by extracting the elastic backscattering cross section of xenon.
