Free-space Communication Links with Transmitting and Receiving Integrated Optical Phased Arrays

Abstract

A lens-free chip-to-chip free space optical communication link showing data transmission from a single transmitter to multiple receivers is demonstrated using steerable integrated silicon photonic optical phased arrays at a data rate of 1Gbps.
