Guiding Light in Waveguide Superlattice Bends

Abstract

Waveguide superlattices increase integrated optical channel density. However, flexible routing requires bending of them. We explore physical mechanisms in waveguide superlattice bends and demonstrate crosstalk ≤ −19.5 dB at 5~15 µm bending radii.
