On the role of sparsity in digital holography

Abstract

We investigate the sparsity properties of digital holograms demonstrating a strictly correlation between refocusing criteria and sparsity measurements. Then, a sparsity-based denoising approach is implemented for optimal holographic reconstructions and optical display.
