Inverse ray mapping on phase space for two-dimensional optical systems

Abstract

A new method to describe light propagation within non-imaging optical systems is presented. The method employs the phase space representation of each optical surface. Numerical results show that this method is more accurate and faster compared to Monte Carlo ray tracing.
