Abstract

We present a new procedure for direct laser writing of high performance waveguides in chalcogenide glass. The propagation losses are measured to be lower than 0.2 dB/cm both in the near- (λ = 1.55 µm) and in the mid-infrared (λ = 4.5 µm).
