Characterization of Liquid Crystal Core Waveguide in the Visible and Near IR Wavelengths

Abstract

A liquid crystal waveguide with 5CB core, fabricated on ITO-coated glass substrate, has been characterized experimentally and numerically in visible and near IR region. The output characteristics indicate potential applications in photonic switching.
