Optimizing the information rate from spectral imagers in the design tradeoff between resolution and coregistration

Abstract

Spatial coregistration errors limit the accuracy of multispectral and hyperspectral imaging. A new metric for these errors enables a quantitative tradeoff against resolution in spectral imager design. The performance optimization is expressed in information-theoretic terms.
