Measuring Spatial Coherence Without Lenses: A Phase-Space Approach

Abstract

Simple methods for measuring a beam’s spatial coherence that are based only on amplitude masks followed by free propagation are presented and compared. Their validity is studied in terms of the ambiguity function representation.
